Care for Most Vulnerable Children

NEREFO takes care of about 250 Most Vulnerable Children (MVC), which are currently attending school in the vicinity of Morogoro. Care is also taken of orphans and street children. To all of them we want to provide both primary and vocational education, to give them future perspectives. As well as securing them in terms of shelter and accommodation.

We usually get to know these MVC during visits of chronically ill patients and their tribes. In other cases, homeless children come to us voluntarily and are registered at NEREFO.

Our main activities with our Most Vulnerable Children

  • Conducting sports and games
  • Conducting integration and reunification

Reunification of Street Children and their Families

One of our main activities with children is the reunification of street children with their parents and families or guardians. During our Psycho social Support (PSS) meetings, which are held twice a week for street children, we talk about their problems and wishes. We meet their guardians once per month to measure the impact and progress of the reunification process.
